Here are 5 tips for speaking with impact
Gepubliceerd op 05-09-2024
How do you leave an unforgettable impression? In both daily and business life, the first impression and how you present yourself often determine whether a client chooses to work with you. A first impression is often made within 2 seconds, but it’s not just the beginning that matters; how you end is also crucial. The way you say goodbye influences how people remember you. This aspect involves a bit of “performance.”
In this masterclass, held in collaboration with A Cup of Ambition and Lead by Presence, Britt Jacobs and Julika Marijn offer 5 practical tips that you can apply directly in your (sales) conversations. From regaining control to leaving an indelible impression. Watch the full masterclass below.
Here are the 5 key tips
Britt and Julika provided 5 excellent tips to help you prepare for a presentation, understand the importance of non-verbal communication, and how to stand in your power.
Tip 1: 3x YES A “YES” to yourself, a “YES” to your audience, and a “YES” to your story.
Tip 2: Stand Firmly Stand centered and engage your core.
Tip 3: Take Up Your Space Pause, slow down, take authority, and vary your speaking pace.
Tip 4: Help Is Nearby Use the people in the room to support your presentation.
Tip 5: Always Have the Last Word How you end is lasting—”leave with a kiss.”
About A Cup of Ambition
A Cup of Ambition is the speakers’ and training agency for female speakers and moderators. Besides representing outstanding female speakers, we also offer training for women to take the stage with more comfort and enjoyment—whatever that stage may be. Britt, Annick, and Joya work hard every day for the mission: “More women on stage!” Why?
In the Netherlands, most of the top 10 lists of most-booked speakers feature 9 men. And in the media, we also see significantly fewer women at talk show tables. When women do join, they are often shown much less on screen. We believe this can and must change. Diversity and balanced representation are needed so we can all see ourselves reflected—in the media, in society, and on the stage.
Lead by Presence
Lead by Presence focuses on the quality of how a person performs (professionally), which is closely linked to how you develop personally.
Based on our experience coaching hundreds of professionals, Lead by Presence has seen this time and time again. The better you have things in order, the greater the contribution you can make. Not to mention how much more fulfilling it is. For us, Lead by Presence means leading from who you truly are and claiming your space. We do this from three levels: your essence, your system, and your story. In our coaching and training, we focus on one or more of these areas. When you align these, you come to the place where you can be most meaningful. The result: less interference, clear and congruent communication, and a life that fits you and brings fulfillment.
